Established in 1982, the Bethesda Barracudas are a summer swim team sponsored by the Montgomery County Recreation Department that swims at the Bethesda Outdoor Pool near downtown Bethesda, Maryland (see map below). In the 2021 summer swim season, we will compete in Division A of the Montgomery County Swim League (MCSL) as the 3rd seeded team among the league's 88 teams.
Whether you are a beginner or have been swimming for years, anyone up to 18 years of age can join our team regardless of where s/he lives as long as s/he can swim one length of the pool at the start of the season.
Given the COVID-19 pandemic, we regret to announce that MCSL has canceled the 2020 summer swim season. Please refer to the MCSL website for answers to frequently asked questions regarding our response to COVID-19 and the effects it will have for the 2021 season.
