Hello Barracudas!
Registration for summer swim opens Monday, May 16th. All returning swimmers must register with Montgomery County and the Barracudas. Registration is a two part process.
Returning Swimmers- Follow these steps:
Active Montgomery- New registration system:
Montgomery County Recreation has a new registration software (
www.activemontgomery.org). Any participant who has NOT registered for a program/activity since February 15, 2022 MUST create a new account.
When creating the new account ALL family members must be added at the same time. It is very important both parents and all children be added. It is highly recommend to create the new account BEFORE coming for an in-person registration. The process will be time consuming for the cashiers.

In-person registration dates:
A cashier will be available at the pool Wednesday & Thursday (May 18th &19th) as well as during Friday & Saturday of evaluations (June 3rd & 4th) After these times, registration will either be online or at an indoor facility.
All swimmers MUST be registered for the team before they can begin swimming.
Registrations CANNOT be collected by coaches or reps.
Last day to register is June 15.
New Swimmers:
Evaluations for New Swimmers -
Minimum qualifications:
8 & Under swimmers: must be able to swim one continuous length (25 meters) of the pool using a coordinated stroke and rhythmic breathing and be able to float on their back.
9-12 Year Old swimmers: must be able to swim one legal length (25 meters) of freestyle with good rhythmic breathing and one length (25 meters) of backstroke.
13 & Over swimmers: must be able to swim two continuous legal lengths (50 meters) of freestyle with good rhythmic breathing and two continuous legal lengths (50 meters) of backstroke.
Evaluations - Dates -
Evaluations will be held at the Bethesda Pool. Cashiers will be at the pools to process registrations. Please fill out a family profile online (www.activemontgomery.org) prior to evaluations to expedite registration.

Pre-summer -June 1-17th, 2022
Monday-Thursday
5:30-6:15pm for the 8 and under
5:30-6:30pm for the 9-12
6:30-7:30pm for 13 and up
Summer- starting June 20th
Daily
8-8:45am for the 8 and under
8:00-9:00am for the 9-12
9:00-10:30am for 13 and up
Mon/Tue/Thurs evenings- 8:00-9:00pm
Please note- no evening practices Friday, June 3rd or Monday, June 20th.
